Food & Beverages
Sandwiches may be pre-ordered, and light snacks are available at the station before boarding. Guests with VIP or Premium tickets enjoy bar access in the Lounge Car for the duration of the journey. During the layover, additional food and beverage options are available at The Fruit Company. Passengers are welcome to bring their own snacks, drinks, or picnic lunch — outside alcohol is prohibited.
Wine Tasting
For those wishing to participate in a tasting at Mt. Hood Winery during the layover, we recommend purchasing a VIP Pass during checkout. This includes expedited service, a souvenir wine glass, and a discount voucher for a future visit. Another option is the Lounge Car, where beer and wine are available for purchase throughout the stop.
Seating
Seats are sold individually, so every person needs a ticket. Seating is assigned by Mt. Hood Railroad based on your ticket type. VIP, Premium, and Parlor tickets include a table that seats up to 4. Groups with fewer than four may be seated with other passengers, so if you’d like a private table, be sure to book tickets in multiples of 4. Standard seating does not include a table. To sit with friends or family, make one reservation together or note the first and last name of the group you’d like to sit with in the booking comments.
Babies
Infants 0–2 years old may travel as lap children.
Wheelchairs
Our Parlor seating can accommodate 2 wheelchairs, with a max width of 27 inches. A lift is available, but electric chairs cannot be loaded or stored. Please note: wheelchairs do not fit through restroom doors due to the train’s historic design.
Assistance with Boarding
If assistance is required for boarding (e.g., for passengers with walkers), please note this when booking so arrangements can be made.
Pets
Pets are not allowed. Anyone attempting to bring a pet will face a $100 penalty and will not be permitted to continue after the Pine Grove layover.
Weapons
Since we are family-friendly, no weapons are allowed. Even if you have a conceal-carry license for a gun, we ask that you leave your weapon in your car. This also applies to all knives and any other weapons.
Cancellation Policy
If you would like cancellation flexibility, we highly recommend purchasing Trip Protection when booking your reservation. It allows you to cancel UP TO 24 HOURS before your departure time and receive a full cash refund minus service fees.

Celebrate Spring with a Scenic Train Journey Through Hood River
Sometime in April, the orchard valley will be transformed into a beautiful canvas of blossoming trees, flowers, vines, and plants. Arrive at the depot 45 minutes early to grab tickets at Will Call and enjoy a smooth start. The train departs for a 45-minute scenic ride along the Hood River, passing blossoming orchards, fresh green forests, and vineyards waking up for the season. Afterward, you’ll deboard for 45 minutes to visit The Fruit Company and Mount Hood Winery. Lunch can be enjoyed at picnic tables with mountain views or onboard during the 45-minute return trip. The train returns to the depot at 2:00 pm for the morning ride and 5:00 pm for the afternoon ride.

GENERAL INFORMATION

When you arrive at the train station in downtown Hood River, please proceed to the Will Call window to pick up your tickets. You can also visit restrooms, purchase snacks, and gift items. Nearby are quaint stores, cafes, restaurants, and hotels located within walking distance.

We have a selection of gifts are available at the train station and during your layover at The Fruit Company, you’ll find a larger variety of merchandise, including apparel, gourmet items, food and beverages, as well as local souvenirs — perfect for celebrating spring in the Hood River Valley.

No. Tickets are not mailed. All tickets must be picked up at Will Call inside the train station on the day of your trip. Will Call usually opens around 45–60 minutes before departure.
