Quick Details

Cast off the monotone shades of winter and get ready to see the buds of spring! Our Fruit Blossom Special has a rich historic past running for over 30 years as one of the best ways to welcome spring’s return.

Blossom season is considered one of the most beautiful times of year to visit the Hood River Valley. Enjoy a train ride from 90 feet above sea level at 1,726 feet, a dramatic enough elevation change to allow for about a month’s worth of bloom. Witness the change from blossoms to the beginnings of young fruit on 2.4 million trees–that comes out to about 15,000 acres of apples, pears, peaches, and cherries all blooming each spring.

To enhance your journey, there is a special stop for photos at one of the orchards. Our narrated Hood River train tour tells you more about the apples, pears, cherries, and peaches, just some of the fruit produced in the Gorge region, and all guests receive a gift bag that includes a local fruit item.

Concessions and beverages are available onboard for a separate cost. Guests are welcome to pre-order a box lunch.
