Mount Hood Railroad Excursion Trains
The fun begins
the moment you step
aboard this century old
railroad. With original cars dating
from the early 1900s,
the Excursion Train is
comprised of
enclosed coaches, a concession car offering
light food and beverage, and the air-conditioned, double-decker, dome car. Sit back, enjoy the
great views and visit with friends and family as you travel along the river,
through forests, meadows and numerous fruit
orchards to the town of Odell or Parkdale.
A live narration along the way covers local

Odell Excursion Train - 2 hours
Afternoon Excursions to Odell are only hosted on Saturdays and Sundays June-September. These trains depart from the depot in down town Hood River and is an 11 mile journey SE, about a forty five minute narrated ride, to the center of the Hood River Valley. There is a thirty minute layover in the small fruit packing town of Odell where you can step off for a short walk or grab an extra treat from the local grocer. The return trip is also forty five minutes. Please confirm the schedule as the Excursion Train hosts special events which very in length and cost and supercede the Excursion to Odell.We recommend two weeks in advance for reservations especially during our high volume seasons. Walk-ins always call to confirm train departure and availability.

Parkdale Excursion Train - 4 hours
Morning Excursions to Parkdale depart from the depot in down town Hood River and is a 22 mile journey SE, a hour and a half narrated ride, to the small town of Parkdale near the base of Mt. Hood. There is a one hour layover in the tiny fruit capital where you can use the time to enjoy a picnic lunch, pre-purchase a sack lunch from on board the train (must pay in cash or check), or walk down the street to a local café. Please confirm the schedule as the Excursion Train hosts special events which very in length and cost. We recommend two weeks in advance for reservations. Walk ins: please call to confirm train departure and availability.
